| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Dometic refrigerator recall in our rv. recall notice appeared months ago. on 2/19/07 i contacted them and they said a packet of information would be sent regarding this recall. nothing received yet and their phone lines aren't answered due to large call volume. we are leaving for 2 month trip and intend to have repair done in carolina where we'll be in april when the kit becomes available by dometic. they say the refrigerator may start on fire. we cannot schedule this repair until we receive their kit. first they said the refrigerator is safe on electric power, now their website says it is not. no information and no repair kits available yet, what is a consumer expected to do? how can they announce a recall and provide no timely remedy? please help, we leave on 3/17. *jb |
