Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: Tl*- the contact stated that while driving the 1995 bmw 525it at 25 mph on february 12, 2007 he tried to turn the vehicle to the right and heard something snapping in the steering column. the contact stated that the weather was very cold. on 2/13/07 he took off the lower half of the steering column that had a plastic case covering it, and found three or four small pieces of broken plastic and 2-3 loose wires. his turn signal didn't snap back to the off position once a turn had been made. the contact took the vehicle to the dealership, and was informed that the contact ring which was adjacent to the air bags and the turn signal needed to be replaced. the contact stated that the fault was due to the cold weather, which caused the air bag rings to snap. the failure mileage was 72000 and the current mileage was 74000.*ak updated 04/12/07. *jb
