Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: I own a 2002 ford taurus [xxx]. my family and i were getting into the car when something broke. we all thought it was a window but could not find any broken glass. i started the car and heard a crunching noise and then the driver side front tire exploded. when changing the tire, i noticed the coil spring was broken and it was dug into the tire. i had to call a tow truck and the driver said that this was common and there is a recall. when i got to the ford dealer, they said that this is not covered in recall #04v332000. this is consistent with the charactistics of the failure for the recall. updated 07/11/2012 *js information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6) |
