Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: 2007 mazda5 with automatic transmission stalls ocassionally when accelerating from a stop at traffic lights. happens most often when starting on an uphill grade. dealership was unable to observe the problem and therefore unable to fix it. in addition, the engine intermittenly loses power for about 1 second while driving at approximately 20 mph. this happens about 4-5 time per week, never more than once on the same day. it usually happens within the first 1/2 mile of driving the car. the dealership was also unable to observe this problem or fix it. i expressed my concern to the dealership and to mazda customer assistance that stalling while pulling into traffic could be a life threatening occurrence, but they insisted that nothing could be done until the problem worsens to the point where a mechanic can observe it. the fact that many others have mentioned the same problem on online user forums did not seem to make a difference. i do not feel safe driving this otherwise wonderful vehicle. |
