Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: I have a 2005 yamaha roadstar 1700 motorcycle. when the motorcycle is restarted, after it is hot,gas overflows from the carburetor all over the engine and exhaust. this happened 3 times , and it happened to two friends with the same motorcycle. i called the dealer , and they said that they were contacting yamaha to find out what to do because they had several calls about the same thing happening to others. yamaha claimed it was caused by winter gas. they said the problem will go away in a few weeks when the gas companies change to their summer formula. at least 1 ounce of gas is shot onto a hot engine and exhaust. this is a major fire hazard. *ak |
