Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Since i bought the presidential 5th wheel in may 2002, i've had six blowout on the same tire, rear sidewalk side tire. the latest was on march 29, 2007 at 60 mph on i-75, where it almost cause a near accident (this is the second time that i had a near accident due to a blown tire) with a suv. monaco has attempted to fix this problem three times. 1- on nov 16 thru dec 17, 2004, at north trails rv (ft. myers, fl), monaco technicians were called in from wildwood to fix the recall problem. the unit was there for a month and monaco had two tech's come in on a weekend to fix the recall. supposedly it was repaired. 2- while on a trip out west we had approximately five blowouts to the same tire making the unit undrivable and on april 14 it was towed to sunland rv(las cruces, nm), their technicians got authorization from monaco and on 4/17-18 they fixed the same recall problem. on the way back home to florida we continued to have blowouts and it caused body damage. we made it home and immediately called and wrote a letter to monaco to inform them of the continuous problem (tire blowout) they scheduled an appointment for us to bring in the unit again to the main location wildwood. 3- on august 30, 2005 at monaco service center (wildwood, fl), the problem was fixed for the the third time. this is the 5th time that i have used my unit since august 2005 (always on short trips) and another blowout (3/29/07) has occurred same location right rear sidewalk tire. this last blowout has also made this unit undrivable because it shredded the the brake line & caused other damage. apparently this unit is a safety issue and at this point i no longer feel safe on the highway with this unit. this unit has to be replaced with another comparable unit. my question is how do we deal with recall problem #04v483000. please advise me as to how we are going to resolve this issue. *jb |
