Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: I have an evenflo embrace car seat. the car seat has never snapped into the base without a lot of force on my part. had to physically push down on it. when i first starting using this seat i heard it click like it was in place, only to be driving down the road and then heard a loud click. it had not been properly secured, and that was with me pushing down on it! ak i know that the base issue has happened with at least one other mother. hers had always worked until she bought a different car (with the plushier seats). then she could not get the seat to snap into the base at all, and ended up buying a totally different car seat for her child. i did find out that it makes a difference what kind of vehicle you own. previously i had the base in a 1994 dodge grand caravan. apparently the plush seats made it difficult to snap in. however, now i have a 2001 windstar and the seat hooks right into the base the way it should. and this van has latch anchors, so i can actually get the base in tight enough for me to feel it is safer. also, when using the seat belt to secure the base, it moves more than it is supposed to. the handle does not feel like it is correctly on the seat. i can move the handle sideways, back and forth. you can see a gap where the handle attaches to the seat. it makes me worry that the handle may break, on top of my other problems. i would like a warning to go out about the installation of these seats. if you have a nice, flat, firm seat to use it with, it works wonderfully. but if you have a plush (softer i guess) interior, most likely there will be problems!
