Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: On 4/11/07 as my husband was driving our children to school, the rear window of our 2004 ford freestar burst, shattering for no apparent reason. there were no chips or cracks prior to the explosion. fortunately, no one was in the last row, otherwise, someone could have been seriously injured. although the dealership admits to other owners of ford vehicles having similar situations, we were told they would do nothing because the warranty has expired. i can only assume that if the entire rear end of the van exploded because of defective material, they would also give us the unacceptable answer, "your warranty has expired!" the entire window was gone. we had to pay $250 and our insurance paid the remaining balance to have it replaced. i do not feel safe in a vehicle where windows can "out of the blue" explode. which one will be next? *tr |
