Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Tl*the contact owns a 2000 ford taurus. while driving 25 mph, the vehicle shifted from 2,000 rpms to 5,000 rpm's. as a result, the vehicle accelerated from 25 mph to 50 mph without depressing the accelerator pedal. the contact shifted from the drive position to neutral in order to slow the car down. the mechanic stated that the throttle body sensor could be failing ,and was a common failure with ford vehicles. the contact has not yet notified a ford dealer or the manufacturer because the vehiclewas out of warranty. the current and failure mileages were 62,000. *ak |
