| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: I am an owner of a 2001 dodge ram 1500 truck. i too have issues with the dashboard cracking. there are several cracks now in the dashboard. i am not the original owner of the vehicle, but what i first noticed shortly after my purchase in 2006 was a small area on the dashboard where it met the windshield on the passenger side of the vehicle. in this area, a small piece actually broke out. there was a crack running from the front to the back of the dashboard in this area. i didn't think anything of it as it was a used vehicle. however, there were several front to back cracks on the entire dashboard and the plastic that goes around the lens that covers all the gauges. the most concerning to me was the one that ran from the passenger front corner across the portion that had the screws in it that secured it. the plastic that surrounded 2 of the screw holes was completely cracked around the screw area. the windows were dark tinted, and i used a sun shade on the windshield when the vehicle i was parked, but still more cracks have surfaced. after the recent publicity surrounding these vehicles, i too am nervous about what may happen.*ak |
