Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Defective rebuilt transmission. i purchased a factory rebuilt 4l80e hd gmc transmission from sharp's transmission and auto, inc of tucson, az, for gmc suburban tow vehicle . it has a defect that a gm mechanic says is highly probable to cause a transmission failure. there is a good probability that i would be traveling at highway speed on an interstate when it fails. a failure under these conditions is likely to cause multiple deaths and disabilities. i have been trying to have the defective transmission repaired or replaced by the independent repair shop, to avoid a catastrophic accident. however, after almost 90 days, neither gmc or transmission repair shop owner will discuss the subject with me. i don't know how to proceed. ak |
