Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: 2004 nissan titan 4wd. at 54,000 miles the rear differential gears blew apart while i was driving. this destroyed the rear differential and caused $3000 worth of repairs. the rear axle seals on both sides were leaking at the time the gears failed. apparently, this was becoming a common problem/defect with most nissan titan ,though so far nissan seems to be ignoring the problem. although the rear end gear failure did not cause an accident i was told by a mechanic that if the gears failed and lock at highway speeds they could cause the rear wheels to lock which could cause an accident. *ak |
