Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: 2006 pontiac gto engine failure on 05/15/2007. i had already come to a stop when the motor shut off. went to take off again as traffic moved and saw engine light on. car finally restarted but had to pull over about 1/4 mile again because of the motor shaking violently. the problem was diagnosed at the dealership as a bent valve due to the valve not being seated properly at the factory. the vehicle only had about 7700 miles on it and was bought new. new head put on car and all new valves installed. if motor would have cut off merging into fast traffic where i live there could have been an accident since there was no pre-warnings that there was a problem with the motor. no smells, no check engine lights, no noises, etc before failure happened. at this point the car has been taken back to the dealership for a miss in the motor and a shredded serpentine belt that occurred within 50 miles of picking the car back up at the dealership for the head/valve replacement. |
