Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Purchased 2007 pontiac grand prix gxp new, approx 3 months ago. at 500 miles, loud metal-on-metal "clanking" noise began. traced noise to transmission bell housing. taken for service at 1,500 miles, requested service writer listen to the noise and take care of problem. returned as "no problem found". again, took vehicle to dealer for same noise, along with harsh and sudden shifts around 25-30mph. dealer attempted to return vehicle, stating it was "normal, and covered by a tsb". i refused to accept the vehicle. dealer gave me a very hard time about covering a loaner vehicle, even though this was 2nd time to dealer with same complaint, unresolved, with just over 3,200 miles on odometer. dealer called gm. mechanics now have to tear out the transmission to "attempt a diagnosis". apparently, there may be a "clutch pack issue". vehicle still in service after 4 days, no diagnosis yet. request gm provide a new transmission and bell housing. *tr |
