Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: 2000 windstar. abs light keeps coming on. have had car looked at 4 times and told "problem" (a seal in the mechanism) was replaced and problem fixed. but it's not - abs light keeps coming on. expensive to "fix". also, brake fluid leaks and have had times when driving and brake pedal goes all the way to floor without warning and delayed stopping. luckily have not had accidents when this has happened. have also had brake pads wear out - no pre-warning on this model windstar when brake pads are wearing out. had to have brake pads replaced, and rotors replaced - again and expensive fix to a problem without warning. also, brakes keep squealing when brakes applied - am told this is air in the lines (have been told that lines flushed but problem still keeps happening). also, when steering after the last time abs light problem "fixed" there is a grating steering noise whenever wheel is turned. warranty has run out - but problem with abs still exists and i can't afford another $700. bill to "fix" problem. 2000 windstar should be recalled for this abs problem and it should be fixed free of charge by ford. am very disappointed and frustrated with this problem - and feel that i and my child are driving in an unsafe vehicle.
