Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: i attempted to contact ford motor company at 800-392-3673 to see where i can have a latch system purchased and installed into the 1998 ford explorer. a customer serrvice representative advised me he had no idea, and that ford would not have that information. that i need to go through a dealership? i called a dealership in the area, causeway ford, and spoke to a service and parts representative, who stated he would get right back to me. i have not heard from him since. i wnat to know is the child safety organization article regarding latch systems being installed into vehicles that do not have them true. if so, as i live in nj can you adivse why ford is extremely unwilling to help me? if something happens to my son or i get into an accident and he gets hurt i'm takig this issue to the top as i have it all documented. i really am mad and upset that ford has been so rude as to give me the run around for a simple question. i cannot afford a new car and my explorer runs terrific- but has no latch system to secure the carseat and the middle (the safest zone for him) only offers a lap belt. i am trying to up the safety of my vehicle not rob ford.*ak
