Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: The other day, my '01 volvo v70 crosscountry developed a "reduced performance" warning on the dash. two minutes later while slowly approaching a rr track the car lunged and stopped, right on the track. from a distance i could hear a train's warning blast. my nine year-old was asleep in the back seat so i endeavored to restart the car asap. it wouldn't. this is a pretty rural area and i still couldn't see the train but knew it was approaching. it took literally 30 seconds to get the car going. easily the longest half minute of my life. i have since replaced the fuel filter and mass airflow meter but the car is getting worse. dies. my appt with volvo is tomorrow morning but some research on the web has led me to believe it's a faulty electronic throttle module etm. apparently, this expensive and dangerous issue is well-known to volvo. i bought this car for its safety features; now i feel like i've put my family in jeopardy. please help with this very dangerous and frankly dishonest situation. |
