Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: I have had five instances where i have been driving at speeds ranging from 45mph to 70 mph and the car unexpectedly shuts off. all lights, radio and power turn off for a few seconds and then turns back on without any intervention. after the car resets, it takes another second or two before you can push on the gas pedal and accelerate. if you try to accelerate too soon the engine just revvs. i have also experienced the car turning off once and having to restart it while pulling into a parking space. after the third incident, the car was brought to the dealership service department and they stated that they could not replicate the problem. it has happened twice since then and is going back this week to be looked at. from looking at the complaint listing, i have been lucky/blessed not to have experienced an accident and something must be done before catastrophes start to happen. lets not have another ford/firestone fiasco. *tr |
