Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: I have a 2002 trailblazer. the transmission has failed twice since i bought it. the first time it was at 26,990 miles and the second time it was at 61,062 miles. both times the transmission failed it was without any warning while i was driving it. the transmission would not move from 1st to 2nd or 2nd to 3rd unless i took my foot off of the gas. in both instances i also lost reverse. the first time it happened i was lucky because it was under warranty. the second time it happened it was 2 months and 1,000 miles after my extended warranty expired. the dealership quoted $2,038 to fix it (not replace it) but offered me a 10% discount. i didn't have a choice because i needed my vehicle. since then i have found that this is a frequent problem that gm is aware of however they will not make a recall. what are my options? this is definitely a safety concern as there is no warning when the transmission fails. *tr |
