Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: While driving 60 mph the car jerked forward as if there was a hard shift, the rpms dropped, and vehicle started to decelerate. i thought the cruise control disengaged so i pressed the gas pedal and i was still decelerating. i pulled to the side of the highway. within 30 smoke started coming out from underneath the hood on the drivers side and through the vents. i got out of the car and went to safe place on the side of the road and turned to see the inside of the car completely filled with black smoke. within a minute the flames came out from under the hood of the car. within 10 minutes the car was completely engulfed in flames. this was a rental vehicle that was just completing a round trip of 180 miles. it was approximately 93 degrees with a heat index of 100. he vehicle was rented through enterprise rent-a-car. the agreement number id d-590774 with claim number 76j52. *ak |
