Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: We purchased the evenflo embrace 5 child restraint system that also came with the stroller. the model number began with 550. the handle became looser with each use and we planned to contact them about the problem on monday 7/9/07. however, before we could call them another problem occurred. a piece of the harness adjuster plastic broke off when properly adjusting it, making the seat unsafe and not usable since our baby wouldn't be restrained. evenflo service/call center was not open over the weekend and no one could be reached to discuss the problem. we couldn't be without a car seat, so after researching car seats online and current recalls we had to make a 4 hour round trip and spend close to $300 replacing the seat/stroller with one that had high reviews. also, i registered our evenflo car seat/stroller back on 5/22/07, but did not receive any notice that the car seat had a recall on the handle. this upset us very much since the registration was for notification purposes and our baby's safety was at stake. also, i purchased an extra base which hasn't even been opened. our car seat/stroller was purchased new, and has only been used for 1 month , not even every day!. this car seat wa severe unsafe. *ak
