Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: The transmission in my wife's 2002 chevrolet venture failed with 57,000 miles on it. the transmission was repaired, and we retained the failed parts and inspected them. the cogs in the gear appeared to have snapped off . in my experience it appeared to be a heat treatment problem causing the material to be out of the brinell/rockwell hardness range. there was no advance warning of the failure. my wife just placed the gear shift lever in drive and the vehicle would not move. *ak |
