| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: 2005 jeep liberty crd diesel engine started running sporadically. smell of burning plastic and diesel was present inside vehicle. pulled over and opened hood, to find boiling diesel steam coming from heater electrical port on fuel head. plug was discolored with heat. drove home, ordered new fuel head and replaced with new oem part. 2 months later, the engine started stumbling while driving on the highway and died on highway. coasted to side of road, managed to eventually restart, and made it home. opened hood and found leaking fuel head, from heater socket, diesel fuel draining from plug port at rate of about an oz per minute. electrical plug was burned up, pins electrical pin on inside of fuel heater port destroyed. |
