Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: 2007 camry se 4cyl. severe safety issue related to hesitation and lack of acceleration. when entering traffic from a low speed or from a dead stop the car barely responds to the accelerator. it will slowly allow you to proceed but will not accelerate for up to 3 or 4 seconds, even if the gas peddle is fully pressed to the floor. my family and i have nearly been hit a number of times over the past 6 months that we've owned this car. otherwise we really like this car but believe it to be unsafe because of this problem. the local dealership checked it out and agrees there is a problem and that toyota is aware of it but to date there is no fix. this is not a minor nuisance issue it's a severe safety issue and the nhsta needs to get involved to help pressure toyota to fix the problem before people are severely hurt or killed. *tr |
