| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: I was in the center lane of traffic when i noticed a car coming up from behind me. to avoid getting hit i attempted to throttle down on the gas pedal to pass a car in the slow lane and get in front of him to avoid the speeder coming up behind me. in doing so i heard a snapping sound. i was able to get in the right lane(slow lane) and pull into a restaurant parking lot. i got out of my car and to my amazement saw my entire gas pedal assembly lying on the floor of my car. i was also amazed to see that the entire mounting bracket for the gas pedal is made of either a plastic or resin compound and from what i can tell so is the brake assembly. this does not seem like a strong enough material to be used on such crucial parts. the car was towed to my dealer and the pedal assembly is going to be replaced with the same part. i will be asking for the old part back. *tr |
