Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: My van is a 2000 dodge grand caravan. i had the serpentine belt and belt tensioner replaced on dec. 2005. on july 7, 2007 (18 months later) the van's serpentine belt frayed and had to be replaced. on july 29, 2007 (22 days later) the serpentine belt slipped off, the van lost power steering (also the battery warning light came on.) i was driving on interstate 64. the road condition went from dry to very wet due to a summer rainstorm. i had the van towed to a repair shop and was told this happens frequently to the dodge vans. i search on the internet for this problem and found a web site. http://www.carsurvey.org/viewmorecomments_review_30931_4.html on this very dangerous problem. if my van had stalled out while on the interstate during the rainstorm a serious accident could have occurred. this is a problem that the chrysler / dodge automobile company needs to investigate. pulling off the road every time the road is wet is not realistic way to solve this problem. *tr |
