Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: Tl*the contact owns a 2006 britax e9l4741-decathlon (na) safety seat. while tightening the webbing across the toddlers chest, the harness and harness housing separated completely from the seat. the contact secured the child the best that she could and drove to the fire department. the fire department stated that the failure appeared to be a manufacturing defect and advised her to get another safety seat. she stated that she had a second seat at her residence. the fire department was able to secure the seat until the contact arrived home. they also advised her to never place the child in the defective seat again. she attempted to notify britax, but was unsuccessful. the serial number of the safety seat was e9l4741028892 and the batch number was j000005582.
