Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: This problem pertains to a 2005 chevy silverado. the vent fan / air conditioning shut off while i was driving. i started to see smoke come out from under the dashboard by the passenger side. the connector that was attached to the resistor for the a/c and heater was melting due to extreme heat. the black wire was glowing bright red and was melting the plastic on the connector. after a phone call to the dealership where the truck was purchased, i found out that chevy already new about the problem and that they had seen it many times. the parts to repair it were in stock, they were purchased and replaced. the fan and a/c are now working. *jb |
