Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Liftgate mechanism failure. my wife took the kids to the pool. upon exiting the vehicle and opening the lfitgate, which began to lift upward, a "pop" was heard and the lift gate came crashing back downward. luckily no one was standing under the liftgate at the time. the ball stud attached to the door and piston had snapped, causing the piston to fall from the door. the weight of the door then came crashing down. inspection of the stud showed a total failure of the stud, which snapped in half. *jb |
