Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: On august 15th i drove my 2001 ford excursion to get a haircut in the morning. then on the way back i stopped at little ceasers pizza for my kids. soon after that i came home and parked my 2001 excursion in my back yard. about twenty minutes later i check on my kids and i saw smoke coming from the hood of my excursion. soon after that i saw fire and the whole excursion was up in flames. my car was parked and locked therer was no fire or smoke when i locked the vehicle and came in the house. the vehicle is totaled. i got a recall notice on thursday of last week but the notice was not an emergency it just said call your local ford dealer when you get a chance to have this taken care of. they never said your truck can catch on fire and maybe burn your house down. *jb
