Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Tl*the contact owns a 1995 ford taurus. while driving approximately 10 mph, the driver and passenger side front bolts failed, causing the subframe to give way. the engine fell to the ground and the vehicle was towed to a garage. the air conditioning and power steering were ruined due to the failure. recall number 98v323000 (structure:frame and members) was referenced. the vehicle has been repaired. the current mileage was 104,000 and failure mileage was 102,000. the consumer stated the ac and power steering has not been repaired. the consumer stated the failure was due to improper design of the bolt of choice, the consumer believed the bolt should have been stainless steel. updated 12/12/07 |
