Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: Tl*the contact owns a 2002 jeep grand cherokee. the contact stated that the electric fan detached, shattered, punctured the radiator, and tore the insulation underneath the hood. the failure occurred while driving between 15-25 mph. the dealer stated that nothing could be done since the vehicle was out of warranty. the contact ordered all the parts himself and had the vehicle repaired at a different repair shop. the mechanic informed him of nhtsa recall number 06v199000 (engine and engine cooling:cooling system:fan), however, the manufacturer stated that his vin was not included. the current and failure mileages were 75,000.
