Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: A 7 way trailer plug adapter was plugged upside down into a 2007 nissan titans receptacle socket and it caused the chassis wiring harness, the engine wiring harness and the main wiring harness to all melt down. other electrical components are also probably damaged. it would appear that there was not a properly designed circuit to limit the damage to the electrical system or it malfunctioned. although the vehicle did not catch fire, the plastic coating on the wiring was melted down, the plug adapter was very hot and it potentially could have resulted in a fire if the plug would have been left in long enough. it is suggested that this defect be investigated by nissan. *tr |
