Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Tl*the contact owns a 2002 chevrolet silverado 1500 hd. while driving 10 mph and attempting to stop the vehicle, the abs activated. the brake pedal extended to the floor when it was depressed. no warning indicator lights were present. the contact received recall notice number 05068 and nhtsa campaign id number 05v379000 (service brakes, hydraulic:antilock). the dealer stated that they cleaned the wheel sensor speed control and after test driving the vehicle, the abs continued to fail. the dealer also advised the contact that there is a $90 diagnostic fee and a $300 fee to replace the hub. the dealer stated that the hub repair may not correct the failure. the failure and current mileages were 57,200. updated 01-15-08. *kb updated *jb |
