Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: Tl*the contact owns a 2001 grand am. while driving 35 mph the vehicle shut off. there were no warning lights illuminated on the dash board. she was able to coast the vehicle to the side of the road and after five minutes she was able to restart the vehicle. 24 hours later, the vehicle operated normally; however, after parking the vehicle, it failed to restart. prior to towing the vehicle the mechanic checked the battery and alternator to determine the failure. the vehicle was towed to a repair shop. the mechanic is currently unable to diagnose the failure; however, after 48 hours, the vehicle started and operated normally. the mechanic also confirmed with the owner that the electrical system is a possibility. she has owned the vehicle for almost two weeks. the diagnostic computer also didn't determine the cause of failure. the dealer where the vehicle was purchased stated that she has no warranty, its a used vehicle and it cant be anything too serious. the current and failure mileage were 89,000. the dealer information is unavailable.
