Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: On july 27th of this year my 2006 toyota tacoma had a pressure plate failure that caused my truck to have to be towed. my truck was towed to a local dealership who told me my clutch was burned up and would cost $1450 to be fixed and would not be covered by warranty. i knew this was not true and had my truck towed to a transmission shop who found my pressure plate had failed with no sign of abuse. i had the parts replaced with toyota factory replacement parts. when the shop received these parts they called me to tell me these parts were a different design then the parts that failed in my truck. after some research i found out toyota changed these parts and part #s in 2006 after i bought my truck. i found several other complaints of clutch failure on the design in my truck. even though i have proof of this toyota denies that there was a part change or problem with my truck and has not offered me any assistance with the $1300 in bills i have in incurred with having to change this part. *tr |
