Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Hello, i own a 1994 bmw k75rt motorcycle. the company has been aware of a design flaw in the spline design at both ends of the drive shaft, yet fails to offer any help... only a very expensive repair! the splines are notorious for wearing out at either end - at clutch spline end, or at final drive spline end. numerous other owners also have reported this problem over many years. there is even talk of a class action lawsuit on the "official" bmw 'motorcycle owners of america' website. *tr updated 01/09/08. *lj the consumer stated bmw tells owners to lube clutch splines every 40000 but the greasing does not last but gm fails to recommend regular lubing of final drive splines. updated 12/12/07 *tr |
