| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Safe plus steering stabilizer model 41-230 serial no 05005817 installed on my 1998 freightliner/allegro bus rv suddenly began severe binding which repeatedly froze the steering system until it released with a loud snap, causing the steering to "jump" dangerously, unpredictably and uncontrollably. fortunately for me and my family, the onset occurred on a service road going to our storage lot. had this happened on the highway it would have been certain disaster. i've been driving for 45 years and nothing excites me; this certainly did. this was a disastrous failure mode which rendered the rv steering uncontrollable even at 10 mph. *jb |
