Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Tl*the contact owns a 2003 honda accord. the contact stated that he was unable to shift the gear. he took the vehicle to the dealer and they stated that the safety harness caused the failure and they made the repair. approximately two months later, while driving 40 mph, the vehicle jerked when the gears shifted. the dealer stated that the transmission failed. there is a recall for the automatic transmission (nhtsa campaign id #04v176000). the dealer offered to replace the transmission, but the contact would have to pay the labor costs. he felt that he should not have to pay for labor due to the recall. the failure mileage was 58,000 and current mileage was 63,000. |
