Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: 2006 dodge sprinter, 2500 series passenger van shutoff on the interstate in traffic without any warning. was able to coast out of the traffic flow into the emergency lane and stop. my speed was approximately 55 - 60 miles per hour in this traffic flow. odometer reading is approx 2, 100 miles. i put the vehicle in park and it started back up then drove directly to the dodge dealership. this is the 2nd shut-off incident and it first occurred on september 5, 2007 on the interstate in traffic. my speed was 45 - 50 miles per hour in this traffic flow. odometer reading was 967 miles. drove directly to the dodge the dealership ran diagnostics but could not duplicate the shut-off and they test drove my van 73 miles. this is a serious highway and interstate safety hazard for my vanpool passengers and all other vehicles on the interstate that are around me at the time when these no warning engine shut-offs occur. as for this evening at 5:56 p.m., my van is back in the shop at the dodge dealership for diagnosis and repair. i am deeply concerned about the safety and welfare of my vanpool customers and all vehicles that are around me on the interstate when these no warning shut-offs occur. please help. *jb |
