Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: Tl*the contact owns a 2004 pontiac grand prix. while driving 30 mph in rainy conditions, smoke appeared from the vents approximately two minutes after the defogger was activated. there were no warning lights illuminated. the contact turned the vehicle off for 20 minutes. when he restarted it, smoke began to engulf the vehicle. he stated that none of the components worked inside the passenger compartment. the vehicle was towed to the dealer and they informed him that the a/c motor malfunctioned and melted, which destroyed the electrical wiring system. the vehicle has not been repaired and the manufacturer was not notified. the powertrain was unknown. the current and failure mileages were 83,000.
