Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Windshield visibility frequently reduced due to failure of heater/cooling system, vehicle has no heat for defroster (or occupants). i took the car to the dealer, described the problem and was immediately told this was a known problem in the jeep line with the blend door mechanism and would cost $1,200 to repair. note: this was based solely on a description, no mechanic was required to look at the car; this issue is that well known to the dealership. further, a diagnostic would require removal of the dash, costing $200-500 just to check/confirm. i reported the problem at 29,500 miles (of a 30,000 warranty) but was told i was beyond the warranty date. no corrective action or accomodation was offered. *tr |
