| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: This is about an already existing recall for mazda 1998-2002 b-series cruise control deactivation switch safety recall 4707h. i have spoken with mazda representative several times. the problem is that they are telling me to take my truck down to the nearest dealer and they will fix the problem. that is fine except the nearest dealer to me is over 200 miles away. according the letter i got it states there is a possibility of an underhood fire. i don't feel it is safe to be driving my truck that far if it could result in a fire. i have tried repeatedly just to get the part sent to me when it becomes available and i will have it fixed locally. mazda refuses to send the part saying that the nhtsa will only allow mazda dealerships to install the part. if this is true there are plenty of people in my situation who just are not going to get the problem fixed and continue driving there trucks with this problem because the distance to the nearest dealer is to great and doesn't make sense when the part could be shipped directly to them and installed by a qualified ase mechanic. all i would like is to have the replacement part sent to me. after all it was the manufacturer's mistake and i am the one who is suffering from it. *tr |
