Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: On september 16, 2007, my daughter was struck by a drunk driver. she was driving a 2005 chevrolet aveo. she lost control and struck a concrete retaining wall virtually head on at 55 mph. the insurance company totaled the car, due to heavy front end damage. her air bags did not deploy, although the vehicle was equipped with them. i called chevrolet on sept 21, 2007, to request that they look into what happened to the safety features on the car, and why they did not work. in return, the report is bogged down in red tape, an inspector called us last week (oct. 11, 2007), and said he would be looking at the car. so far, we cannot locate a report and chevy is denying the inspection took place. i am sure they are stalling for time so the car is sold for salvage. this was a serious problem, and should have been looked into immediately, which is all that asked of them. in return, nothing but stalling tactics have occurred. chevrolet refuses to give phone numbers for customer assistance, and keeps referring me back to the department i cannot get information from. *tr |
