Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: In september 2004 my 2001 daewoo leganza would not shift out of the park position without putting the key inside the slot on the gearshift panel. i would have to put it in neutral then start the car. the check engine light was on also and would not go off. i took it gerald jones in augusta, ga. i was told i needed two types of sensors, which required the removal of the entire dashboard. they had my car almost a month and when i did get it back it started to act up again. later i found out it was only a fuse kit that was needed and a cam sensor. as a result of my dashboard being removed. the entire dash is coming apart. in passing i have noticed all daewoo leganza in my area has the same problem with the dashboard. i was told i would have to pay for repairs, eventhough they knew it was from their repair work. i'm sure these other people have used gerald jones, because they were the only daewoo dealership in our entire area. i have been trying to get tag numbers and putting out signs to see if infact repair work involving these sensor repair work has caused problems with car owners dashboards. is there a problem with the dashboards, yes! is there a problem with the cam sensor, yes! i had it replaced twice and the check engine light is still on. the car really and truly is a wonderful car. i want my car to be safe. the cam sensor issue is not safe and the dashboard issue isn't either. i'm sure this affects the airbag system. maybe there should be a recall on these dashboards. if you have more than twenty daewoos with this defect, it worth someone's life to look into this. i worry that my airbags will not operate properly. i have purchased that strip where that defroster is, but i thought i would go this way first. thank you, fnt *tr |
