Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: My son was traveling 65 mph on an interstate when he was hit from behind on the passenger side bumper. this caused him to hit a concrete barrier on the drivers front bumper and then he bounced off of the barrier and hit another concrete barrier on the passenger side front bumper. neither frontal airbags deployed. dodge said that they sent a 3rd party investigator to look at the truck after it had been decided from the insurance company to be totaled. dodge said that there was nothing wrong with the airbags and that they did not deploy because "the airbags never deploy when a vehicle is struck from the rear first". my son sustained shoulder and neck injuries and bruising of the brain. he was going approximately 65 mph when he hit the concrete barrier and dodge says that "due to the deceleration from the rear impact the airbags were not supposed to deploy". we requested a copy of the engineers report and were turned down. *jb |
