Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: I recently purchased a new 2006 jeep liberty and have had repeated problem with the rollover protection program safety system. here's what has been happening: i would be driving down the street in a straight line, say 30 mph, and the system warning lights would go on, then my anti-lock brakes would begin firing because they think that the car is about to roll over. after a few seconds, this would stop. but after that, sometimes the brakes locked up altogether. other times driving went back to normal except for the warning light staying on. it's a little scary and more than a little dangerous for your brakes to lock up this way. the car was in the shop for weeks. i spent hundreds on rental cars. and i had to replace my back brakes at 16,000 miles. i believe that was due to this system malfunctioning. this is an ongoing problem. this is a vital safety system, but the dealer and jeep don't really want to address this issue. *jb |
