Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: 2001 jeep grand cherokee laredo the brake lights will not come on when the lights are on. i have read many problems with this on both the 2000 and the 2001 models. we checked to make sure the brake lights were working in the daytime, and they were, but we turned the lights on, and they would not. my wife was coming home the other night, and her friend was behind her, and when she applied the brakes, her friend no longer could see the tail lights, and by the time she realized what had happened, she had to slam on brakes to avoid slamming into her. there needs to be a recall on this, as i personally saw over 1000 complaints on this same problem. *jb
