| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Tl*the contact owns a 2008 cadillac escalade. while driving in reverse at 5 mph, the contact struck a pole. the parking assistance system (lights and chimes) was defective and did not work. he noticed the pole in the rear back-up camera, but did not know that the parking assistance system did not work at the time. the vehicle sustained damage to the rear bumper. general motors repaired the system and informed him that the damage was his responsibility. he is currently waiting for the part to arrive in order to repair the vehicle. the current mileage was 500 and failure mileage was 300. the consumer stated the defect has since been repaired but feels the manufacturer is at fault due to the faulty utility enhancement system and would like to be reimbursed for the cost of the vehicle, however the manufacturer stated the accident was the consumer's fault. updated 11/20/07 *tr |
