Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: Afx fx3 recalled helmets are still on the market. a friend of mine was able to purchase an afx fx3 helmet, still in the box, in september, 2007. if ever there was a helmet that is not "compliant" with fmvss 218, it is the ones deemed non-compliant according to the recalls database. this helmet has the dot label on the exterior and all the labels to show it is compliant. 100% of people surveyed at raleigh bikefest on 9/29 and 9/30 believed the afx fx3 is compliant. i want to know why the begin recall date was more than a month after the report date, and why brand new afx helmets are still being sold, four years after the recall. the number of failures indicated in this complaint is 1, but i believe there are over 30,000 on the market or on peoples heads. the recall system is a failure, yet you are pushing for states to prosecute motorcyclists when you should be pushing manufacturers to comply. *tr
